Sliding Door Handle – T3 / Outer / Late / Right / Alternative

Replacement T3 outer sliding door handle for the RIGHT side sliding door from 1985 model year (from chassis number WV2 ZZZ 25 Z FH 000 001).

Comes complete with 2 keys.

Whilst you can reset the locks in these handles, the key profile used is a different profile to standard T3 Keys… so you can’t reset them to your original ignition key.

So, you get one extra key on your key ring for each handle 🙂

Now, you’re probably going to look at this handle and think, great! handles are available, it’s just I need one for the left hand door, I can’t seem to find one on the shop, I’ll press the button and ask if the left handle is available..

Sadly the right hand drive market is minuscule compared to the left hand drive market and as such then a lot of suppliers simply won’t make parts for right hand drive vehicles as it’s simply not economically viable, they won’t sell enough parts to cover the tooling costs or if made in smaller batches the parts would be prohibitively expensive and sit on a shelf gathering dust.

This right handle can be used on the left hand sliding door successfully with the caveat that the locking mechanism is now upside down and more key twist force may be required to lock and unlock the door from the outside and the lock, unlock operation may feel a little different than the correct handle. In fairness, if you need a left handle then you don’t really have much choice other than to fit a right hand handle and just accept that it may feel a little different.
