Aftermarket to suit VW T3 models with 1.6TD “JX”, 1.7D “KY” or 2.1l WBX engines.

Suits later 1.6D “CS” from VIN: WV2 ZZZ (24/25) Z D H 000 000 (Start of ’83 model year in Aug ’82)

42mm Aluminium core, plastic tanks, brass bleed screw.

Can be fitted in place of the thinner 34mm radiator found on 1.9l Petrol engines, In fact its a common upgrade to the cooling system to replace the thinner one with this one for more cooling capacity

A word on the “core sizes” some sellers like to claim…
Ignoring the very early radiators that are effectively no longer available, VW fitted 2 sizes of radiator.
34mm core for the lower power options and 42mm core for the 2.1s and Turbo Diesels.
The “hot climate” option was the 42mm core.
There is no new “50mm” core. That’s either a lack of understanding of what the components of a radiator are, or a deliberate attempt to mislead…
The “core” of a radiator is the actual finned section that the liquid flows through, not the end tanks, and not the top plate, or the bottom plate.
Any claims of a new 50mm T3 radiator should be taken with a pinch of salt. As should those who suggest these are some kind of “hot climate” radiator.
They are standard for all 2.1 and Turbo Diesel models. Hot Climate option for the other engine options.

If in doubt, ask for a measurement of the actual core thickness, rather than a measurement of the Top/Bottom plate.

These radiators are supplied to you as they are supplied to us, in a double walled cardboard box.
We do our best to get these to you in as good a condition as possible.
There may be small marks to the fins of the radiator, this does not affect radiator performance or sealing.
Radiator fins are easily and quickly straightened with a ball point pen or a nail brush.
Superficial bends to the radiator fins are not a reason for rejection.
Buying a radiator from us means you have read this note and accept that you are happy to straighten superficial bends yourself, if present.
