The big bolt for the bottom of the front damper on T4 models from 01st Jan 1996 onward / VIN WV2 ZZZ 70 Z T H 200 00 »

This is an aftermarket alternative to the genuine VW item that’s now no longer available.

In typical VW fashion they used a none-standard length bolt so we could either have these made at great expense or just buy the nearest available standard length at sensible money and that’s what this is.

This bolt is 5mm shorter than standard however We have trial fitted these and they are just long enough, see gallery pic.

  • 1.5mm thread pitch
  • 160mm long (original was 165mm)
  • 10.9 grade
  • Zinc flake anti corrosion plating.

In fairness we always found the front damper bolt a little too long and as the bolt was un-plated then the exposed tip of the bolt always corroded and made removing the nut difficult, this shouldn’t happen with this bolt as a) it’s treated and b) the thread isn’t too long so you don’t have to wind a nut over loads of corroded threads.
