Central Door Locking Actuator – T3 | T4 – Alternative

Aftermarket central door locking actuator to suit T3 and T4.

The black actuators (3 or 4 wire) are no longer available and have been replaced with the green actuator from the T4.

The actuator is physically the same except for the colour (duh) and the electrical connection, on a T3 a short wiring loom was permanently attached to the actuator, on a T4 there is a 4 pin electrical connector on the actuator body.

To use these T4 style actuators on a T3 you’ll need the adaptor looms that are listed in the related items below, obviously there are no modifications needed for a T4.

The actuator has 4 electrical terminals and is capable of being used as a master or a slave (master will send the lock/unlock signal to other actuators if itself is locked or unlocked, slave will just do what it’s told and does not control other actuators). Yes, the actuator has 4 electrical connections and is quite happy being used as a slave without the red wire being connected, 4 wires = Master, 3 wires = slave.

We’re not going to hoodwink you or try to pull the wool over your eyes, these actuators are sourced in the far east, that said we’ve been testing them here and they have worked well and done what they are meant to for over a year, we think we are safe to sell them! (edit 2024, these actuators been on one of my own vehicles for 7 years now without issue -Simon)

They aren’t Genuine, they aren’t OE, they aren’t made by an OEM they are far eastern interpretations, the internal design differs but they do the same job at a third of the price.
