Sales to EU to be suspended.

Yey! another Brexit bonus!

The EU are getting bored of cheap far eastern imports they are introducing some fresh rules in an attempt to protect EU businesses.

We can see their point and this is totally understandable but the trouble is that as the UK is outside the EU single market we are caught in the crossfire and those rules are going to apply to us too.

The new rules relate to B2C (Business to Customer) orders under €150 and us having to charge €3 per commodity code and somehow paying this to the EU.

We are a small company, 2 people in the office, 2 full time in the warehouse and a couple of part timers.

We have had plenty of notice of these changes and we hold our hands up that we simply have not had time to look into what’s involved in us becoming compliant.

It’s our busy time of year, we’re at capacity and frankly we do not have the time nor the resources to administer these changes.

From the 1st of July we shall be suspending sales to the EU until we find the time to sit down and work out the best way to continue to support our customers in the EU.

We do have some trusted trading partners within the EU who will be happy to help should you need something from us.
