Stock Take 2024

Hi.

You hate it, we hate it but needs must.

We’ll be closed Wednesday the 10th and Thursday the 11th to carry out the annual stock take.

Last orders will be 2pm Tuesday for anything ordered with FedEx, 4pm for Royal Mail and collections.

Hopefully all done for Thursday evening and we’ll attempt to get the backlog out the door on Friday but it may spill over into the following Monday, we’ll do what we can with what we’ve got!

Just remember that we’re not the only ones with some of these parts and I’m sure Slaughter House Customs, Just Kampers, Heritage Parts Centre will only be too happy to relieve you of some cash!

Get ready for when the stock syncs on Thursday night for all that stuff that we manage to find that’s been missing for a year, all those rare parts that we thought were obsolete and that we didn’t know we had!

Easter Holidays 2024

It’s come around quickly, but apparently it’s Easter!

We will be closed on Friday the 29th March, and Monday 1st April, returning to work on Tuesday the 2nd April.
The webshop will remain open all over the Easter period and we’ll commence shipping on Tuesday when we return.

Enjoy your chocolate eggs or whatever 🙂

As always after a bank Holiday we will process all orders on our return.
Any requests to change or ammend an order in any way will result in the order being placed “on hold” and dealt with after we have shipped everything else.
We always aim to get everything shipped out on the first day we return, but with the best will in the world due to the number or orders we receive thats not always possible.
We thank you for your patience.

No email support 24th Aug to 28th Aug ’23

Due to staff holidays there will be no one here with email access to reply to your questions, not an ideal situation but needs must.

All emails will be responded to on a first come first served basis upon our return to work, fully staffed on the 29th of Aug (the day after the bank holiday)

Clearly we’ll have a back log so please be patient in awaiting your response.

The warehouse is open as usual, orders will still be leaving as they should without disruption.

Please make sure that you order everything you need to!

Usual “Day after the bank holiday” rules apply, we’ll do what we can to get your orders out on time but first come first served, busiest time of the year and a 3 day weekend usually spells trouble!

Holiday season

It’s that time of year again, our silly season where customers are fixing their vans to go on holiday!

Just like you we like some time off too and we have a perfect storm brewing for early next week (31st of July to be precise!) where we will have more staff away from work than we’d ideally like.

We will be running reduced staff in the warehouse early next week and this is a heads up to say, please order in time as not as many packages as we’d like to get out the door will actually be going out of the door.

To try and pre-empt a flurry of grumpy customers who email to say “I paid extra for next day delivery”, orders will be picked, packed and shipped on  first come first served basis and we will do our utmost to ship as much as we can with the shipping service you selected at checkout, we don’t want orders sat in the tray just as much as you don’t want a delay in receiving your package.

To save us from replying to the same type of emails over and over again, anyone who decided not to read the big red banner at the top of every page on the webshop will be simply sent a link to this page!

Normal service will resume on Wednesday the 2nd of August as we try and clear the backlog.

Please be careful to make sure you order everything you need as office staff will be in the warehouse packing orders and we may not get to your “I forgot to order something, can I tag it on to my current order” email until it’s shipped.

Happy Holidays!

Simon.

Easter Bank Holiday Closing

Eyup!
Easter is just around the corner and just like you we’re resdy for a few days off!
We shall be closed on 7th of April (Good Friday) and the 10th of April (Easter Monday)
Roll on a 4 day weekend!
We’ll be back on the 11th with a backlog to clear so a bit of patience please, we’ll do our best to get your parts away in the post ASAP. afterwards but please expect a bit of disruption.

Closed for Stocktake ’23

Hi.

As we’re now past the 2pm cut off point for orders leaving same day we have stopped processing orders to concentrate on counting our stock.

The website will continue to take orders, they will NOT be sent until after stocktake.

Any orders placed after 2pm on Weds 29th of March ’23 will be held until the stock take is complete, as soon as the stocktake is complete then we shall return to processing orders.

We don’t expect to be finished until Friday the 31st, sometime in the afternoon, orders will be sent on a first come first served basis, we expect disruption to continue until the early part of next week.

As usual we’ll do our best to get stuff out the door as soon as we can.

Emails asking why your stuff has not left will be met with the usual “read the massive red banner at the top of each page” response and probably a link to this page, you can lead a horse to water, you can’t make it drink!

Stocktake closure

Now then, it’s that time of year again when we have to close the shop for a couple of days and count what we have on the shelf, put the stock levels right and clear any silly mistakes we’ve made over the last 12 months.

We shall be closed on Thursday the 30th and Friday the 31st of March.
This means orders placed after around 2pm on Wednesday the 29th March are unlikely to be processed until the stock take is complete.

Please order your parts in good time! being closed means… being closed!

The webshop will remain open and will continue to take orders but there’s a good chance NOTHING will be sent before Monday the 3rd of April.

Royal Mail Industrial Action – FEB’23

Hi.

Royal Mail are on strike again on the 16th and 17th of February 2023.

Clearly if you select Royal Mail at checkout then this is going to impact your shipment, please use FedEx instead.

We’d love to turn Royal Mail off all together so customers can’t select it, to stop them asking where their stuff is after ignoring the massive red banner at the top of every page but the fact is for some customers it’s their only choice so we’ll leave it on this time, it’s a bit of a case of we’re damned if we do and damnded if we don’t!

More Royal Mail issues – UK Exports

If it’s not one thing, it’s another!

This morning we have come to work to the following email, this will affect our export deliveries with Royal Mail.
We tend to use Royal Mail for smaller packages up to 2kg, obviously we’d say use FedEx.

Dear SJ Baxter LTD

Royal Mail is experiencing severe service disruption to international export services following a cyber incident. We are temporarily unable to despatch items to overseas destinations.

We strongly recommend that you temporarily hold any export mail items while we work to resolve the issue.

Items that have already been despatched may be subject to delays. The following services for parcels and letters are affected:

    • Royal Mail International Tracked
    • Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed
    • Royal Mail International Standard

All export items already received by Royal Mail are being processed through the Royal Mail UK network and held securely for export processing to recommence as soon as the export despatch systems are available again.

We would like to sincerely apologise to impacted customers for any disruption this incident is causing.

Our import operations continue to perform a full service, with some minor delays. Parcelforce Worldwide export services are still operating to all international destinations though customers should expect minor delays.

Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this disruption and we will update you as soon as we have more information. We immediately launched an investigation into the incident, and we are working with external experts to resolve this issue.

Yours sincerely

Jon Nicholson
UK Sales Director, Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide.

Christmas Closing 2022

[Noddy Holder Voice] It’s Christmas! [/Noddy Holder Voice]

Yeah, we know… you know.
However there is always someone who thinks that they still have time to get that last minute order in for delivery before Christmas, even at 4pm on Christmas eve so we have to make these posts…
We will close this year around midday on Friday 23rd December, but to all intents and purposes we close when the last Royal Mail collection arrives on Thursday afternoon at around 4:45PM
Ignore Friday. Nothing will be packed or shipped after late afternoon on Thursday. We have stuff to do in the office and some admin tasks on the webshop, but as far as orders… that ship will have sailed mid afternoon.
We have turned off most Royal Mail services now so for most of you that leaves Fedex. Last Fedex collection is around 2:30PM on Thursday. Obviously we have to pick and pack any orders so realistically last orders for shipping before Christmas is Midday Thursday and anything after that very probably won’t be shipped until we return on the 3rd January 2023.

We’ve done this for a couple of reasons… The Royal Mail is snowed under even without the effect of strike action. And we are already past the last posting day for delivery before the holidays anyway, except for the more expensive services such as Special Delivery… which don’t make sense compared to the FedEx option anyway.

Speaking of January, we’ll start processing orders placed over the holidays on Tuesday morning and generally we do them in the order they were placed.
It usually takes a couple of days to catch up on the backlog though, so as ever we appreciate your patience

Got it?
Good.
Now who’s going to be that guy emailing at 5pm on Thursday telling us we’ve ruined Christmas because the thing he ordered 10 minutes before hasn’t shipped?

Have a good ‘un!
